“AShaiman to the world is not a profit making program “,- Stonebwoy

Dancehall musician Stonebwoy from Ghana has revealed that his popular music event “Ashiaman to the world” is a charity concert and does not bring in money for him.

Every year, Stonebwoy hosts the Ashaiman to the World concert for the locals of Ashaiman to entertain his fans and show them how much he cares for them. The annual BHIM Nation concert takes place at Saka Saka Park in Ashaiman, not far from the BHIM shop.

Growing up in Ashaiman, Stonebwoy claims that there weren’t any concerts like this to amuse the populace while allowing hawkers and other local vendors to sell their wares and make money.

“I knew there should be an event that will open the way because Ashaiman is big but we weren’t often getting such events, on that standard, because those times, if we’d go to such events, it’d be FM stations organizing them in Tema.”

“It brings market to people because people will rent things, some people manage the traffic and parking for tips, it brings business value also, so it’s a thing that trickles down to a lot of people to gain some stuff,” he added.

Speaking about the profits he gets from the concert, he said, “What I get is to sit and watch and be happy and know that I’m representing a community which is part of the legacy that I have to leave.”

“Sincerely, we can’t stop [organizing the concert] because if we’ve been able, by God’s grace, to do it to this extent, we must fight every obstacle that will threaten it”, he added.

Stonebwoy thanked “the police, the military, the fire service” for attending the concert, which this year will become a festival.
