Ebony’s death made things difficult for me in my music career, Wendy Shay claims.

Award-winning Ghanaian musician and female artist Wendy Shay who’s signed to Bullet’s Rufftown Records has revealed what made her music career very difficult for her as an artist bouncing into the industry.

According to her, the death of Ebony; a former signee at Ruff Town Records has caused harm more than good to her music career. In an interview on Power FM, Wendy Shay disclosed that she faced a lot of obstacles when she started her music career.

Wendy Shay is one of the female artists who has endured backlash and insults from social media users while she tried bouncing into the music scene after the death of Ebony. Many people had the impression that she was trying to fit in where the late Ebony left.

“When I first entered the profession, I had a lot of obstacles because of Ebony’s death; people didn’t want to listen to me since they thought their favorite had died.

I expected those who claimed to love Ebony to exhibit the same love to me because, if you claim to love someone and that person dies, I believe you should show the same love to her successor, and that would prove how much you loved her,” she remarked.

She claims that breaking into the music business despite Ghanaians’ animosity has helped her solidify her place in the industry. Wendy Shay made this disclosure during her music tour in Western Region.
