DASTECH FM and the people of Zebilla are bidding farewell to a beloved radio voice after nearly a decade on the air. Mamudu Musah Salifu, one of the most recognized and talented hosts in the Kusaug Kingdom, announced his resignation last week after serving at DASTECH FM 90.1MHZ since November 15, 2015.
Salifu has been a staple of the community radio station for 9 years, entertaining and informing listeners with his iconic voice and amiable hosting style. His deep passion for radio and connection with the local community made him hugely popular across Zebilla and the surrounding villages.
In his resignation message, Salifu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the “management and all the staff of DASTECH FM and the general public for your support during my stay.” It is undoubtedly the end of an era for many loyal listeners of his shows over the past near-decade. The outpouring of appreciative comments on social media is proof of the special place he holds in the hearts of the people.
While the reason for his decision remains unclear, there is widespread speculation that Salifu may explore bigger opportunities down the road. His level of talent clearly transcends community radio, and many believe he has the skill to succeed on bigger platforms. However, for now, his close-knit fans in Zebilla will dearly miss tuning in to the familiar, friendly voice that has been a staple of their local airwaves since the late 2000s.
There is no doubt that staff and listeners of DASTECH FM will miss the 9-year veteran. But they will also be grateful for the years of entertainment he provided from behind the radio mic. All of Kusaug Kingdom thanks Mr. Salifu for his long service to community radio, Congratulations and best wishes to him in his future endeavors. Below is a message shared by him.
